Beating the Odds

If you are a parent of two teens, and you hear that statistically one of your children could lose interest in church-related activities during their adolescent years, what should you do? Patty Vidales, Youth Director of the Paradise Valley Seventh-day Adventist Church in National City, California, near San Diego, decided to be proactive. In addition to prayer and creating a safe place for kids to be real, she and other church leaders engaged in efforts that they believe can lead to youth retention. National City is in the Southeastern California Conference of Seventh-day Adventists.
