The Bible In 90 Days

As a pastor I’ve always wanted to read through the entire Bible and even started a few times using one of those a year-long reading plans. I found that I wasn’t very good at sticking to the plan. I’ve read large portions of scripture but never verse-by-verse straight through. I attend a national pastor’s conference every year and actually received a FREE kit called The Bible in 90 Days designed specifically to take a group through the Bible by reading 12 pages a day for 90 days.
The kit sat in my office for almost a year until I decided that it would be a good way to start a new pastor’s class in my church. We had 25 people sign up to begin the journey. We met Sabbath mornings to talk about what we read during the week and watch a video lecture that provided background information and encouragement to keep going with the reading.
I discovered that my class was truly hungry to delve into the Bible and it was helpful to do it as a group. We also found out that having the discipline to read 12 pages a day is really tough. Perhaps the most difficult part of the entire 90 days was resisting the temptation to stop and focus on one story or section of the Bible for deeper study and discussion.
